Thomas L. Kirkpatrick
President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kirkpatrick’s career spans over 25 years in Business Development, Sales Management, Marketing and Human Resources. He became the President and CEO of Eco Engineering in September 1998.

Mr. Kirkpatrick spent 19 years with the Procter & Gamble Company, progressing rapidly through positions of increasing responsibility in Sales Management, Marketing, and Human Resources. During his tenure at P&G, Mr. Kirkpatrick was responsible for managing both the Eastern and Western Sales Divisions, and held positions as Corporate Market Manager, and Manager of Sales Recruiting, Training and Development.

In 1995, Mr. Kirkpatrick was named Vice President, Market Development for MATRIXX Marketing, Inc., the global teleservices and customer care subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell. While at MATRIXX, Mr. Kirkpatrick was the senior executive responsible for US sales and marketing activities. Under his leadership the organization grew from $226M to $447M in annual revenues in three years.

At Eco, Mr. Kirkpatrick is responsible for the overall management of the firm, including strategic planning, business partnerships, finance and human resources. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and the Executive Development Program of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Brian Roth
General Manager, Business Development

Mr. Roth spent five years in the lighting industry with Roth Brothers, Inc., a family owned, regional ESCO in northeast Ohio that was subsequently acquired by First Energy Corp. His experience includes electrical upgrade and lighting maintenance programs for a variety of manufacturing, warehousing/distribution and commercial office properties. Mr. Roth is a registered energy Surveyor with the EPA’s Green Lights Ally Program, along with a Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP) from the Association of Energy Engineers.

Mr. Roth joined Eco in January 1999 and is currently responsible for the Sales Organization including developing new services and customizing Eco Engineering programs based upon market needs and the unique needs for mutual gain with potential business partners, including National Energy Service Companies, and National Accounts. He holds a BA in Economics from Oberlin College and an MBA from Xavier University.

Emily Gandee
Director, Finance and Administration

Ms. Gandee has held a variety of positions with leading companies in the Greater Cincinnati area over the past twenty years including U.S. Shoe, and most recently, the Convergys Corporation, a customer care and billing subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell. Her responsibilities included serving as Senior Executive Assistant responsible for planning events, financial tracking, facility issues, and key personnel responsibilities.

Ms. Gandee joined Eco in October 1998 with complete responsibility for the corporate financial, accounting, and administration systems.

Brad Dulle
Director, Engineering

Mr. Dulle’s professional career began in the United States Army, where he worked as an Electronic Repairman and Tank Crewman. He was awarded an Army Commendation Medal, and Army Good Conduct Medal, and an Army Achievement Medal before completing his military commitment. Immediately prior to joining Eco, he spent three years with AK Steel as an Electrical maintenance Engineer, where he learned large project management along with engineering new installations and implementing critical design changes. He started at Eco Engineering 1/05 as a Sales Support Engineer, and was promoted to run the Engineering group in 2007.

Mr. Dulle has a bachelor’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and an Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.



Engineering

Hari Krishnamurthy
Sales Support Engineer

Mr. Krishnamurthy, a native of India, joined Eco Engineering after completing his Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He distinguished himself there both with his design work in the wave Electronics Laboratory, and with his work as a Graduate assistant in the Student Services area. He was the recipient of numerous awards including the University Graduate Scholarship, a Teaching Assistantship, as well as being involved with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. His Undergraduate degree is from the University of Madras.

Doug Ketterer
Sales Support Engineer

Mr. Ketterer started his business career in retailing with Elder Beerman as an Area Sales Manager, and then moved to Robert Half International as a Staffing Manager. He spent his first six months with Eco Engineering working on various project crews, including the National OfficeMax team to learn the business from the ground up. He was promoted to Project Manager in January of 2004. He is currently responsible for the largest multi-location national account projects, and has crews and contractors working across all 50 states.

Mr. Ketterer graduated from Bowling Green University with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing

Matt Minard
Sales Support Engineer

Mr. Minard Matt has 10 years lighting industry experience and was brought up in the industry through his family’s electrical distribution business. After graduating from college, he started with his family’s business as the marketing director and industrial lighting sales associate. Matt decided to pursue growth beyond the family business and joined Lighting Sales, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio to pursue a career in the lighting industry in roles that included inside and outside sales, national account sales, and project management. In 2007, he joined Hawkins Sales out of Cleveland as the lighting specialist. In this role, Matt covered the state of Ohio developing design build work for lighting retrofit projects. It was in this role that he would gain the knowledge for energy audits and lighting system layouts and design.

Matt graduated from Ashland University in 1999 with Bachelors degree in Marketing. Since graduating from college, Matt taken a proactive approach to further his education is lighting. In 2006, he graduated from the Illumination Engineering Society education courses and is a member of the IES Great Lakes Chapter.



Operations

Josh Thompson
Manager, Installation and Construction

Mr. Thompson comes to Eco Engineering with over 12 years in the construction industry. The last 10 years with specific concentrations in both construction management and quality assurance. He also has several years experience in a project management role.

Prior to joining Eco, Mr. Thompson held management positions at several reputable tri-state construction companies such as Fischer Homes and Baker Concrete Construction where he was Quality Assurance Supervisor and Project Manager respectively.

Mr. Thompson has a BA in History from Thomas More College in Edgewood, KY.

Clint Gonzales
Manager, National Accounts

Clint Gonzales comes to Eco Engineering with over 25 years experience in the electrical and lighting industry. Mr. Gonzales most recently was the Division Manager of Precede, the division responsible for turnkey lighting installations of Acuity Brands Lighting products; he was the manager of the department responsible for several National Accounts of lighting installations since 1995.

Mr. Gonzales began his carrier as an electrician in 1981. In 1987 he began working for a small lighting retrofit installation company which grew into a multimillion dollar company before being sold to a public company. His duties have grown from personally managing installations to developing lighting audit and project management processes in order to effectively manage lighting audits & lighting installations for several fortune 500 customers. His experience in project management and lighting installations has led to over 4000 successful lighting projects which have included retail, industrial, commercial and government sites.

Mr. Gonzales became a licensed electrician in 1984 and currently holds a Texas Masters Electrical license. He also has recently been the qualified party for several other state contractor's licenses.

Robert Gronas
Project Manager

Mr. Gronas joined Eco Engineering following three years with the Kroger Company, where he was a Senior Procurement Specialist, with involvement in purchasing electrical and lighting products. Prior to this, he spent 11 years in the environmental management field as a Project Engineer working for Fluor Daniels/Fluor Fernald on the Fernald Environmental Restoration Project. In total this represents 14 years of experience in Project Management and Purchasing.

Mr. Gronas holds a BS degree in Environmental and Business Management from the University of Findlay, and an Associates degree in Environmental Engineering from Cincinnati State.

Brian Kline
Project Manager

Mr. Kline worked in the Utilities and Commercial HVAC industries prior to joining Eco, including working for Dayton Power & Light in Ohio. In 1996 after college and the experience in the Utilities industry, he became a Project Manager for Itron, Inc based in Spokane, WA. Itron provided Automated Meter Reading devices and meter reading data collection based programs to help Utilities operate efficiently. He worked across the nation for Itron on multiple outsourced turnkey projects including Southern Connecticut Gas and Southern California Edison. Mr. Kline comes to Eco Engineering with over ten years experience in Operations and Project Management.

Mr. Kline is a graduate in Business from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.

Sam Kelley
Project Manager

Prior to joining Eco, Mr. Kelley was employed at Sylvania Lighting Service first as a Remote Service Technician and then as a Project coordinator for four years. Included in Mr. Kelley’s background is training in project management, marketing and distribution, electronics, and hydraulics application and design.

Sam has a diverse background in multiple trades but has spent the last nine years focused in the lighting industry. Sam has a firm knowledge of installation and repair practices as well as Project Management experience to ensure quality goods and services are delivered to our customers.

Jon Prabell
Project Manager

Mr. Prabell had ten years of experience in the Construction industry prior to joining Eco Engineering. He started his career working for Tom Rechtin HVAC and Electric and was a lead electrician managing jobs in the residential, commercial, and industrial fields. Mr. Prabell was responsible for energy audits as well as running the retrofits and installations. The last two and a half years Mr. Prabell spent with Fischer Homes as an Estimator maintaining a 99.7% accuracy rating.

Mr. Prabell holds a Diploma in Industrial Electricity from Gateway Community College. He also holds an Associates Degree in Construction Technology and a Bachelors of Applied Science with a Major in Construction Management and a Minor in Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University. During Mr. Prabell’s college career he was on The Dean’s List for several semesters and was President of NKU’s Construction Management Association.

Matt Caldwell
Project Manager

Prior to joining Eco Engineering, Mr. Caldwell was employed at Sylvania Lighting Service first as a lighting upgrade Crew Leader and then as a Project Coordinator. As a Project Coordinator, Mr. Caldwell was responsible for 20+ employees, $700K in warehoused materials, and $5-6M in annual project revenue. Preceding Sylvania, Mr. Caldwell spent over a decade in the Automotive Technologies field holding various positions ranging from Service Technician, Store Manager, and Regional Manager.

Mr. Caldwell holds a BA in Organizational Leadership from Wright State University in Dayton, OH as well as an AA in Geography from Sinclair College in Dayton, OH. He has also completed all course offerings regarding lighting controls technology, application, and commissioning from the Lighting Controls Association



Sales

Jeff Lyon
Director, Central-Northern Ohio, Pennsylvania Markets

Mr. Lyon has been working in the energy services/environmental field since 1987, although he joined Eco Engineering in October 1999.

Prior to joining Eco, Mr. Lyon was the founder and President of Energy Resource One, a Columbus, Ohio based energy service company that specialized in energy efficient lighting upgrades, installation of solar window film, and marketing of natural gas to a wide variety of industrial and commercial customers. Prior to that, he worked in sales as a manufacturer’s representative marketing industrial hazardous waste treatment systems and services.

Mr. Lyon holds a BA degree in Environmental Biology from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He is also a registered energy Surveyor with the EPA’s Green Lights Ally Program.

Matt Amyx
Director, Michigan-Indiana Markets

Mr. Amyx joined Eco Engineering in July, 1999 originally after spending five years in sales/sales management with Tradesman International, with a role that provided skilled craftsman to Companies in Greater Cincinnati. Mr. Amyx also spent 1.5 years selling full “turn-key” energy projects with Perfection Mechanical in the tri-state market. He is currently responsible for our relationships/partnerships with Companies where we act as subcontractor on a project to an entity that is normally focused on a larger energy opportunity/project.

Mr. Amyx holds a degree in Business Management from The University of Cincinnati.

Steve Sumpter
Director, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa Markets

Mr. Sumpter has over 25 years of experience in the lighting and energy conservation industry. Prior to joining Eco in 2001, he spent 23 years at North American, Inc. in a variety of positions, most recently as Vice President. North American was an Ohio-based electrical distributor specializing in providing both labor and materials for energy-efficient lighting upgrades. Most recently, Mr. Sumpter spent two years with Control Solutions as a performance contracting lighting engineer. His responsibilities have included specification and procurement of energy-efficient products, design and management of large-scale energy saving projects, and the development of innovative national programs to assist clients with energy cost containment.

Mr. Sumpter attended Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati, and is a registered energy Surveyor with the EPA’s Green Lights Ally Program.

David Larson
Director, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi & Alabama Markets

Mr. Larson Joined Eco Engineering after a long and storied career in lighting and energy sales. He started his business career in Sales and Sales Management positions with Phillips Lighting and with the Kimberly Clark Corporation. He spent 7 years with Entergy Integrated Solutions in Key Account and National Sales, selling energy solutions for lighting, HVAC, and other services. After Entergy closed, David spent time with Sylvania Lighting Services, Enertech Marketing, Hi-Lites of Tennessee, and Emerson Retail Services, primarily selling lighting retrofit services.

Mr. Larson, a native of Wisconsin, has a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Carroll College.

David Armentrout
Director, Southern Ohio/Kentucky Market

Mr. Armentrout joined Eco Engineering in June of 2006 with 10 years of experience in lighting, building automation and HVAC sales, most recently, with TAC/Tour Andover Controls as a Sales-Account Manager in the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton Areas. During that time, he worked with a wide variety of clients in Southwest Ohio including colleges & universities, manufacturers, retailers, property managers and government organizations helping building owners achieve their facility goals.

Mr. Armentrout holds a Bachelors degree in Communication Arts from the College of Mount St. Joseph.

Lynn Hawkins
Director, Midwest Markets

Lynn Hawkins has been in the lighting and electrical industry for over 20 years. Following in his father’s footsteps at an electrical distributor in Kansas City, Lynn began working with Southwestern Bell which became SBC Communications, then AT&T. He moved to another distributer to be able to provide better service to national accounts. He has negotiated national contracts with Ford, General Motors, Hallmark Cards, and AT&T. Lynn negotiated AT&T’s first national lighting agreement in 2006 while working for a distributor in New York. This contract was expanded to over 200 property managers and encompassed over 90,000 locations. Lynn has managed over 200 retrofits for AT&T and other companies around the country in the last couple of years.

Lynn attended Southwest Missouri State University along with The University of Missouri in Kansas City. He is on the National Energy Alliance Team for AT&T and conducts energy seminars nationwide.

Rodney Thiemann
Director, Strategic Alliances

Prior to joining ECO, Mr. Thiemann worked at a local Venture Capital company and then began an 8 year term as President & CEO of Delta Power Supply. Delta designed, developed and brought to the lighting industry the first high-wattage, dimmable electronic ballast for HID lighting. Mr. Thiemann oversaw the product launch, off-shore manufacturing, license to OEMs and the development of a sales plan that resulted in an evolution from a few “beta sites” to sales of 60,000+ units over a 48 month period. Following the 2007 sale of Delta’s patents and technology to an OEM industry partner, Mr. Thiemann joined ECO as a Sales Director with a focus on Key Accounts.

Mr. Thiemann holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Indiana University and a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University.



Administration

Ruthanne Carter
Office Manager

Before joining Eco in July 2006, Ms. Carter spent 26 years working for a company in the special machine tool industry. Of those years, 14 were as Project Manager working on projects ranging in value up to $11 million. Her project management experience has covered a wide range of functions providing her with a business understanding of finance, budgets, scheduling, resource allocation, purchasing, execution, customer relations and commercial contracts.

Ms. Carter has a BS in Applied Business from the University of Cincinnati and has completed the requirements for a Certified Project Manager (CPM) certificate from Xavier University Consulting Group.
